When I look back at this wedding the first thing that comes to mind is how honored I feel to witness the beauty of this land. I have to say I was awe-struck and speechless when we arrived at Emerald Lake. I have shot here before in the summer but this was my first experience with winter out there. It is an incredible place in the summer, spectacular even. I guess I wasn’t prepared for it to be equally as spectacular in winter. I don’t think I’ve ever seen as much snow as this, it was like something out of a Dr. Seuss storybook, or a snow globe. I was thrilled to work with Siobhan and Adam, not only for how great of a couple they are, but also because well, they’re British. I felt so at home with everyone; my husband is Scottish and we have quite a few English and Scottish friends and I just love the humor and mannerisms. I do not love sounding like a hillbilly compared to their beautiful accents though (ha!). The whole day was brilliant and everyone in the wedding party was just so lovely to work with. The temperature, although could have been worse, was c-o-l-d and yet everyone was probably so astounded by the surroundings they didn’t notice how long I actually kept them outside. This wedding was a treat in every aspect. Emerald Lake is an incredible venue, and don’t get me started on the food. Wow. Everything we tried was incredible. I couldn’t recommend this lodge more. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it!
