Happy Canada Day! This year I got to ring in Canada’s birthday with a mountain top celebration care of Shandell and Kent’s wedding. What a day! Blair (www.blairmariephotography.blogspot.com) and I traveled up for the Sunday affair the day before so we could scout some locations. We drove around the town and were pretty much overwhelmed with our options. So many choices but not enough time for all. Seriously, we could have spent about 5 hrs on the creatives with 5 uniquely beautiful locations. I, like seemingly most albertans, have only ever driven through Golden via the highway, which FYI is a bit of a travesty. It is such a beautiful little town and Kicking Horse is well worth the visit even if only for the grizzly refuge (in the summer). Thanks to Blair, I was able to make it up the gondola, although I think I might have left bruising on her knee from squeezing it so hard. The slightly scary trip up is of course well worth it for the views and has to be one of the most picturesque ceremonies I have ever photographed. I love ‘the kiss’ photograph as it looks like Kent is literally sweeping her off her feet! We could have photographed this gorgeous couple all day! Blair and I left that evening flying high, not only from the fabulous images safely stored on our CF cards, but also from the massive candy and dessert bar offerings at their dinner. Weeeeee!!! Enjoy!
