If ever there was love at first sight, Renae and Casey would be the textbook definition. Casey spotted Renae in a coffee shop and knew he had to meet her. After a few weeks of seeing her around campus, he worked up the courage to sit down at her table and introduce himself. Friendship came first, but 5 years later they have found themselves smitten with each other; soulmates. I do love me a good engagement story and Casey definitely had his work cut out for him since Renae, besides being a physio, is a graduate of the Sherlock Holmes Academy for sleuthing. Casey knew that she would be thinking that he was going to propose on their upcoming Mexico trip, so what better time to do it then right before. Casey also knew that Renae loved her nephew and decided to include him in the plot. After dinner one evening, Renae’s brother-in-law handed Casey the baby and told him to change his diaper citing some sort of surprise for him. Renae, being curious, followed Casey into the nursery and he mentioned that something was in her nephew’s pocket. Before she knew it, a sparkly ring emerged and her future husband was on bended knee asking for her hand in marriage.

When I told Renae and Casey I had found the perfect place for their engagement session and that it included a bird sculpture, all Renae could picture was some sort of giant concrete magpie. Ha! It was a beautiful evening spent with a beautiful and inspiring couple and I cannot wait to capture their big day.
