One of the (many) perks of my job is that I get to meet a lot of amazing people, and seemingly more often than not, those amazing people become my friends. I think it’s because we get to share in such an emotional day together, but then it might also be that i’m just pretty darn awesome 🙂 Chelsie and Jamie were pretty much insta-friends the moment we met. You see, Jamie is from Scotland and so is my husband. Not just ‘oh my grandfather’s father is from Scotland’, we’re talking the born and raised, I’ve-left-my-country-for-love, kind of guys. Because they were such great people, and because of the Scottish connection, I knew we’d all get along famously and over this last year, we certainly have had A LOT of good times. Actually I can’t believe it’s only been a year as I feel like we’ve known each other forever. I got married in Scotland last year and to be honest, I was a little jealous of my friend and photographer (the beautiful and talented Hope Baker of H2Photo in Toronto). So not only was I over the moon to befriend a couple of kindred spirits, I was thrilled that they were tying the knot in bonny Scotland! Neidpath Castle towers over the rugged landscape in an area known as the Borders, about a half hour from Edinburgh. There was no rain to speak of, the day was perfect in every way, especially topped off with a traditional Scottish ceilidh. Chelsie and Jamie, thank you for including me in your adventure, I look forward to many more!
