#awesome #wedding. Hashtags are definitely a new trend and I love how useful they are for the bride and groom. When the hashtag is used, (for Kayla and Ryan it was #gvgwedding) all the pictures and tweets and posts get grouped together so the happy couple can easily find it all. The details at their wedding were just amazing, a photographer’s dream. Everywhere I looked, there was something new, something yummy to capture. Speaking of yummy, the candy bar at the front of the ceremony was such a hit! Unfortunately I was too busy shooting to sample any! With any wedding, a backup plan is almost a number one priority. For me, I own enough matching umbrellas for my entire bridal party, and if I need more, I go buy them. But sometimes even umbrellas won’t do the trick, like in the case of Kayla and Ryan’s day where there was a torrential downpour. Of course, the forecast for Canmore was sunshine and no rain, but I’ve shot in the mountains so much that I know the forecast is almost always flawed. Luckily, the rain held off for the ceremony (phew) and luckily we had an incredible indoor location, in the form of fab restaurant Crazyweed. No wedding in the mountains is complete without, well, mountains (!!) so a decision was made once the rain looked lighter to head out. And just as we stepped out of our cars, the sun appeared, the rain stopped and we were given the best gift of a beautiful day. I worked with some pretty incredible people. Firstly, Erin Wallace of Erin Wallace Photography was my fab second shooter. Photographik were the incredible videographers and I cannot recommend them enough. Silvertip provided the amazing backdrop and venue and Kari from Knot Planning put it all together with her signature flair and attention to detail.
